Hoi An, Vietnam, May.20 – 24, 2025
Antient Town of Hoi An, Beautiful beach and Vietnam coffee
It was a long way to Hoi An. One of the antient towns in Vietnam. I took a red-eye flight at 01:30 from Haneda. I arrived Hochimin City early in the morning. I exchanged 10,000 yen to huge amount of Vietnamese currency 1.7 million at Telephone shop and bought a sim card at the same shop before taking a shuttle bus to T-3 building, newly built terminal. I had to take a Vietnam airlines’ flight to Danan, central Vietnam at 9:00. This is my first time to visit the country. Noise of motor bikes, Strong sunshine, Hot temperature as high as my body temperature, everything is new to me. From the window of the shuttle bus, I saw the streets of Hochimin bustling with motor bikes. The streets are nothing different from other Asian cities. There are billboards of propaganda posters of celebration 50 years anniversary after Vietnam war. I had never imagine the long war was once fought with the United States until I saw them. There were nothing which remind me of the war at least in the city.
The terminal 3 is the newly built facility. There are still some construction work going in the terminal. After check-in, I went through the security check by putting off my shoes. I saw some US senior citizens at the gate. of flight to Danan. Some are on the wheel chairs. I guessed they served military forces during the war. It could be their journey to remember the place once they spent their young periods. The flight was just about an hour. View of green mountains would last until touch-down.
