
Shinya Ota was born and raised in Yokohama, Japan.
He graduated Meiji University school of Political science and Economics.
He is now working as a specialist in Reefer container maintenance business in town.
His hobbies include traveling, photography, computer programing, reading books, listening to music and watching US TV dramas. Favorite musicians/Groups: Windham Hill, Barry Manilow, Chicago, Akina Nakamori, Yuriko Nakamura, Stylistics…
He likes “Hawaii Five – O” (CBS 2010-2020), a reboot of the 1968 CBS series of the same name. He is now watching a drama “但願人長久”(Dan Yuan Ren Chang Jiu) or “May we be blessed with longevity”, a Taiwan/Chinese drama about Taiwan Singer Teresa Teng’s life who died at 42 years old 30 years ago. He loves her sweet voice and songs. He even visited her house in Stanley, Hong Kong during memorial open days.
He loves to read Ayako Miura’s literary works in his spare time.
His favorite destinations: Hawaii, Hong Kong, Hokkaido ( All of them begin with “H”.. Interesting…)
He is a certified English national guide of Japan.
He is a church-going Roman Catholic.
